1. What have yolu learned best in COMM100? Why?

Communication 100 is one subject that really helped me a lot and of course all of us. As a MassCommunication student I must learn all the concepts in communication. I must be able to communicate well and be a good communicator. At first I thought that thesubject would be relatedto speaking or somehow like speech subjects,but I was wrong.

What I have learned best in COMM 100 is how media is powerful and the different concepts and theories related to that topic. That's what I have learned best specifically. It is because it comprises all the other topics. The following topics after that was related to that concept. It explains how things go. It has helped me to understand how the audiences behave and how they evolved from being powerless to bing powerful. I have learned that media is powerful due to its pervasiveness. It is everywhere and you can't escape its influence. You can intentionally or unintentionally consume media texts. "Media text" in particular is a term that I have learned from this subject that helped me. It refers to the output produced by media or the technology itself. Lastly, I now know the acceptable and appropriate definition of my course. Mass Communication is a industrialized production and multiple distribution ofmessages through technological devices.

As for my attitude, I learned how to be more discipline and be able to do things under pressure. COMM100 is a great help.

2. How has COMM100improved tyour perspective as a MassComm major?

Before I based my answers merely by personal opinionsand observations. After almost three months of taking COMM100, I have learned how to incorporate myanswers from facts. I now base my answers from concepts, theories and ideas in Communication that are used by Communication majors in particular.That is how the subject changed my perspective. I now understand the responsibilities and duties on my hand when the time comes that I will be a media practitioner. I have learned about the issues about media practice in the country and in the future I would like to act and behave related to those issues but I will practice with truth. I am a bit afraid because practicing media in the country is really dangerous but I have to face that and I am trying to develop the strength and courage to continue and eventually finish this course.

3. What area in Mass Communication do you still want to focus your studies on?

I think that I want to focus on broadcasting. I love to speak and I really wanted to be more fluent and proficient in speaking the English language. I want to be in front of people announcing things and stuffs and that is whatI want in the near future. I want to be in front of the television broadcasting news. If I fail Iwould also want to enter in to investiagative journalism. I am adventurous and I want to seek and seek for the truth and others. I want to enter in to documentaries but all of these requires hardwork, critical thinking and courage and I will start to build and develop that NOW!
